Messianic Insights - Aleph Part 3 (Discovering Messiah Through Hebrew Alphabet) lightAleph

The Aleph = 2 yods (HAND) and a vav (NAIL)

Yod – 10th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet – numerical value of 10

Vav – 6th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet – numerical value of 6

MASHIACH (JESUS CHRIST) IS THE ‘LADDER’

Every holy letter serves as a channel to connect heaven with earth.  The א is seen as a ladder placed on the ground reaching to heaven.

“Then Jacob departed from Beersheba and went toward Haran.  And he came to a certain place and spent the night there, because the sun had set; and he took one of the stones of the place and put it under his head, and lay down in that place.  And he had a dream, and behold, a ladder was set on the earth with its top reaching to heaven ; and behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.”  (Genesis 28 v 10/12).

The Hebrew word used here for ‘ladder’ is סלם ‘sulam’ (Strong’s H5551) – Samech – 60, Lamed – 30, Mem – 40 = 130.

The Torah was given from Mount Sinai “In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.  When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain. …… Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the LORD descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.” (Exodus 19 v 1/2, 18).

The Hebrew word used here for  ‘Sinai’ סיני Strong’s H5514 – Samech – 60, Yod – 10, Nun – 50, Yod – 10 = 130.

When Christ spoke to Nathanael He was revealing to Him (a Jew) that He alone was the ladder to give access to heaven “And He said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you shall see the heavens opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” (John 1 v 51).

The observance of the Torah which was given on סיני (Sinai), serves as a ‘ladder’, a link to God.  This is also alluded to in the identical numerical value of סלם (ladder) – 130 and סיני (Sinai) – 130.

It appears that the Names of God and His Son are always brought back to Aleph as the key – the Aleph representing Leader, Strong Ox, Gentle Ox, Familiar Friend and Teacher.

יה– Yah – Yod – 10, Hey - 5 = 15. The 15th letter in the Torah is aleph - א

יהוה – YHVH – Yod – 10, Hey – 5, Vav – 6, Hey - 5 = 26. The 26th letter of the Torah is aleph – א

אל – El – Aleph – 1, Lamed - 30 = 31.  The 31st letter of the Torah is aleph – א

אלהים– Elohim – Aleph - 1, Lamed – 30, Hey – 5, Yod – 10, Mem – 40 = 86.  The 86th letter of the Torah is aleph = א

אב – Ab – Aleph – 1, Bet – 2 = 3.  The 3rd letter of the Torah is aleph – א
