About Us
Hello and a warm welcome to you all, and thank you for visiting Zarephath Ministries.
Dear ladies we see today that there are many HOUSES but not many HOMES!
Home! The very place of satisfaction and rest which our hearts find when we enjoy the Lord Jesus Christ! It is truly the sense of ease and rest that we feel when we are in the same room with a known and valued ‘friend’. Home with Christ is a wonderful place! Our hearts learn in the home, and our hands go out from our home to act for the heart, the more we are in our’ proper’ home the larger our hearts will be and the very works of our hands will be more successful in what they find to do! Home is the one place in this world where our hearts are sure of each other! His heart is our home!
I think of the HOUSE of the Pharisee (Luke 7 v 36/50), the poor woman was a sinner, there was only one heart in the world she could trust, and that was the heart of Christ. Did she hide her sins? No, she came weeping. But she trusted Him -she trusted the love that brought the ‘light’ to her!
We marvel at the grace displayed in the HOME of Bethany (John 12 v 1/8) – Jesus is seen here moving toward the’ little company’ (a remnant) of Bethany. He came to their home because He was certain of a wonderful welcome from a small group of people who loved Him! He was about to be anointed for His death by one who had gathered up a precious store of ointment, Mary knew who HE was, she had a total appreciation of HIM, she valued HIM , she already saw Him beyond His coming death. He came to them, He was not sent for! IN A WORLD THAT DESPISES AND REJECTS HIM HE SEEKS OUT A COMPANY THAT LOVES HIM!
Our vision at Zarephath Ministries is to focus on the Divine provision for Christ’s Bride, to encourage that small group to continue to love Him. We see in 1 Kings 17 a land called Zarephath, (‘smelting house’ in Hebrew) it is a land of famine under the rule and reign of one who is determined to destroy the witness of the Word of God. (See newsletter number one)
At Zarephath we see the ‘widow’ as she arrives at the gate to present what is left of herself during her own time of difficulty and trial; we see this as a picture of the Church. But notice she is there to meet Elijah, the prophet of God. The widow is willing to continue to offer what she has left, even though it appears to be a meagre supply!
What opened the poor woman's heart in John 4? It wasn’t Christ speaking about the ‘living water’, but, "Go, call your husband, and come here." Her heart was opened by her conscience being reached - "If you knew the gift of God...” (John 4 v 10). Giving, not imputing – “If you knew who it was who had come so low as to be dependent on a woman like you for a drink of water, you would have confidence in Him. He alone knows how deep the well is inside of you! Her heart had found its HOME!
All these ladies (His Bride) received His offered love and it changed their hearts, their HOMES and the activity of their hands! We present to you a series of teachings called ‘A LIVING WORD LIVING FOR TODAY’! Yes! This Word (JESUS) that they had received with JOY was always going to LIVE! Their lives were changed, never to be the same again, they now had a HOME where CHRIST chose to be!
The lady at the well had to go and tell all the surrounding areas that she had found the truth! “Come; see a MAN who told me all the things that I have done....” (John 4 v 29).
This series of teachings is given to equip us all to apply this ‘living’ Word to every area of our lives! The Queen of Sheba is a picture of a woman who heard the fame of Solomon (a type of Christ) and came to visit him bringing with her difficult questions! A woman with a capacity and desire for the Kings wisdom! This wisdom so captivated her heart that she became a proof against what was admirable here on earth! She had seen and heard things that left her breathless! She had no desire to move away from the truth! (2 Chronicles 9 v 1/12).
This is the wisdom that we still need today!
We also present to you the opportunity to extend your heart and hands in praying and possibly supporting our Children’s Orphanages in Kerala State, INDIA. This is a true HOME of the heart of Christ being worked out practically in the lives of the many orphans who have been handed in to our Dear Brother Pappy Daniel! A dear brother and father in the Lord – didn’t Paul say “...For if you were to have countless teachers in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have become your father through the Gospel.” 1 Corinthians 4 v 15.
The communication of our faith is a great thing and it affects many lives in many different ways and in James 1 v 27 we read “This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained from by the world.” True religion, not only lip, but life, not just words, but actions accompanying the effect of those words in our own lives. That is the challenge for His small company (remnant) today; does the Living Word bring a difference into other people’s lives through us?
This Ministry is available for those who are lovers of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Living Word. We sincerely hope and pray that Zarephath Ministries will be able to encourage you in these last days by finding ‘treasure’ in His Word. Like the Apostle Paul said to the church at Thessalonica “.....We were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherishes her children.” 1 Thessalonians 2 v 7 we aim to be a ministry that will feed, counsel, cherish, teach you to walk, preserve you from stumbling, and lead you in a right path.
